John Moore
John K. Moore received a B.A. in Political Science, with minors in Philosophy and Japanese, from West Virginia University in 2017 and his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2025. While studying law, John clerked with a criminal defense firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he helped represent indigent clients. During his third year of law school, John served as a student attorney in the West Virginia University College of Law Veterans Advocacy Clinic, providing free legal services to veterans and assisting them with a variety of legal matters.
Raised in Martinsburg, West Virginia, John developed an early appreciation for the importance of assisting individuals with meaningful access to legal representation regardless of their financial circumstances.
John's experience advocating for individuals navigating complex legal and administrative systems ultimately led him to the field of disability law. He continues his commitment to serving those in need as an attorney with Heard & Smith's Social Security Disability practice group, where he advocates for individuals seeking the disability benefits and financial security they deserve.
John is a member of the Maryland State Bar.
