Katharine Dodd

Before joining Heard & Smith, Katharine practiced in both the public and private sectors. She served as a Regional Attorney for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, where she represented the agency in hearings and trials involving child welfare matters. Before becoming an attorney with the agency, she spent nearly six years as a conservatorship caseworker. In that role, she managed cases involving children in state care, prepared reports for the court, coordinated services for families, and monitored the progress of children and parents throughout the legal process. Katharine later practiced civil litigation and family law, gaining experience in legal research, discovery, motion practice, document review, and case strategy.
Katharine received her B.A. in Political Science from Pace University and her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. She was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2015. Outside of work, Katharine enjoys traveling, spending time in the Texas Hill Country, and working in her garden.
